The Surviving Face is a Quest of the DLC, Seeker, Slayer, Survivor in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. If you want to secure the favor of the Surviving Face, you will need to endure the ancient statue's demands and find victory in the Crucible's Survivor challenges.

Objectives

  1. Explore Tiebe o Waiapu for an artifact of the Survivor.
  2. Return to the Pool of Memories.
  3. Endure the Survivor's Stand series of Crucible arena events.
  4. Defeat the Band of the Bear and become the chosen of the Surviving Face.

 

Walkthrough

  • After you complete The Rite of Passage, speak to Engari near the Pool of Memories and he'll tell you where to find three artifacts, each of which will appease a different Face.
  • Explore Tiebe o Waiapu for an artifact of the survivor. 
  • The Surviving Face's Hunt for the Matron's Skull: The Hanging Sepulchers (Neketaka / Sacred Stair), north end
  • The Surviving Face's Hunt for the Uncut Gem: Poko Kohara Ruins, next to Oasis tree (southeast section)
  • The Surviving Face's Hunt for the Finger of the Exiled Queen: Oathbinder's Sanctum, fourth floor, Court Room statue
  • Survive the battles and defeat Band of the Bear.

Objectives

  • The Surviving Face
    • If I want to secure the favor of the Surviving Face, I will need to endure the ancient statue's demands and find victory in the Crucible's Survivor challenges.
  • Explore Tiebe o Waiapu for an artifact of the Survivor
    • The mountainous area of Kazuwari known as Tiebe o Waiapu is reportedly home to wild boar of unusual ferocity. If I return to the Crucible arena with proof of having endured this trek into the wilds, I should gain the favor of the Surviving Face.
  • Return to the Pool of Memories
    • Having survived the inhospitable landscape (and feisty swine) of Tiebe o Waiapu, I have a small necklace to show for my troubles. I should offer this artifact to the Pool of Memories and see what challenges the Crucible can draw from it.
  • Endure the Survivor's Stand series of Crucible arena events
    • The Crucible has rewarded me with yet more chances to lose life and limb. I can now compete in the Survivor's Stand, a series of battles emphasizing stamina and resilience. If I'm victorious, I will earn the further favor of the Surviving Face.
    • I crossed paths with another pack of contenders enduring the Surviving Face's trials - the Band of the Bear.
  • Defeat the Band of the Bear and become the chosen of the Surviving Face
    • My exploits in the Crucible have earned me great standing in the eyes of the Surviving Face. Only one other pack, the Band of the Bear, is of equal esteem. If I can best them in the Crucible, I will become the Surviving Face's chosen.

  • I have bested the Band of the Bear and become the chosen of the Surviving Face. I should return to the Hall of Memories to determine what further trials await.
