Rogue is a class in Pillars of Eternity 2. Rely on wits, speed, and subterfuge to achieve their goals. While they are known for their stealthy nature both in and out of battle, many of them are quite talented with machines and contraptions of all sorts. They have the highest single-hit damage potential and they have a lot of ways to qualify for Sneak Attacks.
"Rogues are vicious killers, feared for the brutality of their attacks. They can be found as often in dark back alleys as the heart of battlefield skirmishes. Though unpredictable and undisciplined, rogues are commonly used as shock troops or as part of a surprise assault, their withering attacks breaking enemy ranks and morale. Rogues tend to congregate in larger numbers in cities where they can be steadily employed as mercenaries or hired muscle."
Rogue Tips & Builds

- Rogues gain additional damage with Sneak Attack against targets that have an Affliction or are Flanked. This bonus applies only to attacks with weapons.
- Backstab does insane damage and rewards the Rogue for being Invisible or Stealthed and within 2m of the target. Use abilities like Smoke Veil to gain this bonus once combat has begun.
- Rogue Abilities can be used at range, so you can make a high damage ranged Build using them.
- Increase your Deflection to take advantage of the Riposte passive ability.
Rogue Subclasses
Assassin
Bonus: Gain Assassinate passive. From Stealth, attacks receive +4 Penetration, +25 Accuracy and +50% Critical Hit Damage.
Penalty: All Damage received is increased by 15%
Streetfighter
Bonus: -50% Recovery Time +50% Damage against Flanked, Mind Afflicted or Body Afflicted targets, when the street fighter is Flanked or Bloodied. +100% Weapon Crit Damage when the Streetfighter is both Flanked and Bloodied.
Penalty: +20 Recovery Time when the street fighter is neither Flanked nor Bloodied.
Trickster
Bonus: Learns Arkemyr's Dazzling Lights. Automatically gain select Illusion wizard spells at new power levels (spells cost Guile to use).
Penalty: Sneak Attack damage reduced by 10%
Debonaire
Bonus: Gain 100% Hit to Crit conversion against Charmed targets. Gain Roguish Charm ability. Gain 15% Hit to Graze against attacks when not affected by any afflictions.
