Tuotilo's Palm is a unique Shield in Pillars of Eternity 2.
Tuotilo was a struggling metallurgist who supplemented his meagre income by fighting in high-stakes boxing matches. Boxing proved to be the more lucrative venture and he eventually abandoned his forge to devote the entirety of his time to training and fighting. He proved to be quite skilled and quickly rose to prominence in the boxing circuit. He became so confident in his strength that he claimed his hands were strong enough to stop the blade of a sword. He even challenged the renowned duelist Ri Golan to a bout to prove his claim. During the fight, before a cheering crowd, Tuotilo lost his left hand to her sabre.
A hard lesson learned Tuotilo returned to his forge. Unwilling to admit his time as a master fighter had ended, he forged this impressive shield as a replacement for his missing hand. This new hand could not hold a hammer, but it could strike and parry, and that was good enough for him.
Tuotilo's Palm Location/Acquisition
- Location: Periki's Overlook, Neketaka.
- Acquisition: This shield can be bought from the merchant, Marihi at Marihi's Metalwork; or, it can be stolen from the shop.
Tuotilo's Palm Quality
Players can only upgrade a Unique Shield's Quality to a higher tier level. Upgrading the Quality only affects its Deflection by 2 points.
Tuotilo's Palm Unique Enchantment Upgrades
Enchantments play a vital role in a player's equipment, these Enchantments provide different special effects that can be used as an advantage in battle. Some Unique Shields carry multiple Enchantments that players may equip and some Unique Shields only has one Enchantment. These Enchantments can only be found in Unique Items and can be upgraded if needed.
Players can unlock all of the upgrades listed for a Unique Shield's Enchantment, however, some upgrades replace the current enchantment, and some can be stacked as bonus effects. By doing this, players must have the required ingredients and sufficient Copper Pands (CP) to be able to craft their preferred upgrade.

Tuotilo's Palm Notes/Tips

- Damage, accuracy, and penetration scale with Transcendent Suffering
AnonymousBenefits from both Two Weapon Style and Weapon and Shield Style. Counts as an unarmed fist for attacking purposes. This means it scales with Transcendent Suffering and Monastic Unarmed Training. Devoted Fighters will also gain their bonus penetration and crit damage, making it a decent off-hand for them if they choose a one-handed weapon type without many good uniques. It's far from the most damaging weapon, but it gives you higher defenses and the ability to negate recovery penalties from weapon modals like the battleaxe or rapier when using Full Attacks.
