The Slaying Face is a Quest of the DLC, Seeker, Slayer, Survivor in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. If you want to secure the favor of the Slaying Face, you will need to attend to the bloodthirsty statue's demands and find victory in the Crucible's Slayer challenges.

Objectives

  1. Recover the Slayer's artifact from Whakupoko Lowveld.
  2. Return to the Pool of Memories.
  3. Wreak havoc in the Beasts of the Slayer series of Crucible arena events.
  4. Defeat the Dragonstalkers and become the chosen of the Slaying Face.

 

Walkthrough

  • After you complete The Rite of Passage, speak to Engari near the Pool of Memories and he'll tell you where to find three artifacts, each of which will appease a different Face.
  • Recover the slayer's artifact from Whakupoko Lowveld.
  • The Slaying Face's Hunt for the Luckless Coin: The Kraken's Eye (Port Maje), first floor, speak to Caedric
  • The Slaying Face's Hunt for the Hunter's Head: Motare o Kozi, next to frog statue
  • The Slaying Face's Hunt for the Titan's Heart: Fleet Master's Office (Neketaka / Brass Citadel), in chest near entrance
  • Donate the artifact to the Pool of Memories. 
  • Survive the three coming challenges, and defeat Dragonstalkers.

Objectives

  • The Slaying Face
    • If I want to secure the favor of the Slaying Face, I will need to attend to the bloodthirsty statue's demands and find victory in the Crucible's Slayer challenges.
  • Recover the Slayer's artifact from Whakupoko Lowveld
    • Thieves have stolen an artifact sacred to the Slayer from the Crucible archives. Accounts suggest the thieves did not make it off the island of Kazuwari, but are hiding west of the Crucible in an area of Kazuwari known as the Whakupoko Lowveld.
  • Return to the Pool of Memories
    • I have reclaimed the artifact of the Slayer from the stelgaer-ridden depths of the Whakupoko Lowveld. Offering this artifact to the Pool of Memories should allow the Crucible to manifest new challenges based on the memories clinging to it.
  • Wreak havoc in the Beasts of the Slayer series of Crucible arena events
    • Now that I've offered the Slayer's artifact to the Pool of Memories, I am deemed worthy of facing the Slayer's challenges. If I wish to continue gaining the favor of the Slaying Face, I will need to compete in these savage duels. When I'm ready, the Pool of Memories will ready the Crucible for battle.
    • I crossed paths with another pack of contenders spilling blood in the name of the Slayer - the Dragonstalkers.
  • Defeat the Dragonstalkers and become the chosen of the Slaying Face
    • Victory in the Crucible arena has earned me the favor of the Slaying Face. Only one other pack, the Dragonstalkers, is of equal standing in the flashing eyes of the Slayer. If I can best them in the arena, I will become the Slaying Face's chosen.

 

End States

  • I have bested the Dragonstalkers and become chosen of the Slaying Face. I should return to the Hall of Memories to determine what further trials await.
